Why your code stays yours
A static QR code stores your actual data in its pattern. There is no short link operated by this generator, no account record to keep active, and no scan allowance that can pause the image. Save the export and it stays independent of this website.
A destination can still change: a page may move, a document can become private, and a network password can be replaced. A printed code keeps its original data rather than updating itself. Read the precise never-expire promise or the guide to codes and expiry for that distinction.
From an idea to a usable code
- Choose the action. Enter a public link or select a dedicated form for text, WiFi, contact details, messages, maps, events, reviews, or social profiles.
- Keep the design readable. Pick dark marks on a light background, preserve the border, and add only a small logo if it helps.
- Check the whole result. Download the image after the local scan test, inspect its destination or details on another device, and test a real print before making a batch.
Make it work beyond the preview
Use PNG for everyday documents, SVG for a suitable resizable design workflow, or PDF for a standalone code and ready-made print templates. Choose A4 or US Letter, add a headline, and print at the intended scale. Generic sticker grids need checking against your actual label stock.
The physical size, material, lighting, and pattern density all matter. Keep the quiet zone intact and avoid seams, folds, glare, and very pale colors. The printing guide explains how to choose a starting size and approve a proof. If a scan fails, use the troubleshooting guide to separate image problems from destination problems.
Frequently asked questions
Are these QR codes really free?
Yes. There is no account, payment gate, watermark, or generator subscription. You can download the static file and keep it. A separate destination service may have its own conditions or fees.
Why do the codes never expire?
The payload is directly encoded in the pattern. There is no generator-operated redirect or account status to check during a scan. A linked destination still needs to stay available, and the printed image must remain readable.
Can I change a code after printing?
A static pattern cannot be rewritten. Maintain content at an existing URL you control, or create a replacement image when the encoded address, number, contact details, or credentials change.
Do you see my links, passwords, or logo files?
The generator processes those inputs locally in your browser. It does not upload them or store content in localStorage. Your finished image contains its payload, so share it only with the intended audience.
Does the scan check prove a link is safe?
No. It checks whether the rendered image decodes to the intended text and flags readability problems. You must verify the destination, permissions, and real-device behavior yourself before distributing the code.
Can I make a code for a PDF or menu?
Yes. Host the document or menu at a suitable public address, verify its viewing permissions, and encode that link. This tool does not host files or keep an external sharing address alive.
